ROLLING BLACKOUT WARNING

I’ve begun to notice sudden pageview spikes in my blog stats of late, usually from the same source and going through hundreds of my posts in one go. This doesn’t strike me ax human behaviour. As you can probably guess, my concern is that AI software is scanning and copying my intellectual property (or what I believe is my intellectual property, after uploading it to Google) for use elsewhere. While I’m sure I’ve probably agreed to all of this in some T&Cs I’ve blindly accepted somewhere, I still don’t like it.

Even though I don’t monetise The Whittling Post, being an old-fashioned nerd who does it merely for fun and to maybe make some friends, I do find all of this rather disrespectful. Therefore, whenever I get hundreds of views from a single source in future, I’ll switch The Whittling Post to private for a few hours, just to shake whoeveritis loose. I don’t know whether this will actually work in any way shape or form, but at least I’ll feel like I’m doing something to fight back.

If anyone knows of a way to block such software, then I’d be grateful for your advice.

Your patience and understanding during these weird times will forever be appreciated.

I’m currently putting the final touches to a [story corner] entry, so keep an eye out for that when I am set to public!

Begun, the (even more boring) clone war has.

Do stay in touch, darlings.

Toodles!
